Do

  • Open all doors and windows to ventilate the property
  • Turn off the gas at the meter emergency control valve
  • Put out any naked flames and extinguish cigarettes
  • Get everyone outside if the smell is strong
  • Call 0800 111 999 from outside the property

Don't

  • Don't smoke, strike matches or use naked flames
  • Don't turn electrical switches on or off — including lights
  • Don't use doorbells, mobile phones or any electrics indoors
  • Don't attempt to repair the leak yourself
