Experienced Vaillant Boiler Repairs
Vaillant boilers have an excellent reputation for reliability, but like any boiler, components eventually wear or faults develop.
Some of the Vaillant problems we regularly investigate include:
- Boiler losing pressure
- No heating or hot water
- Boiler failing to ignite
- Intermittent faults
- Unusual noises
- Radiators not heating correctly
- Hot water running hot and cold
- Boiler repeatedly needing to be reset
- Leaking boilers
- Fault codes appearing on the display
Common Vaillant fault codes include F.22, F.28, F.29, F.75 and F.62. A fault code can help identify where the problem lies, but it doesn’t always mean the component mentioned by the boiler needs replacing.
Correct diagnosis is important before fitting expensive parts.
Vaillant F.75 Fault
One of the better-known Vaillant faults is F.75.
This generally means the boiler hasn’t detected the expected pressure change when the pump starts. Depending on the model and circumstances, the problem could involve the pump, pressure sensor, system pressure, circulation or another issue.
Rather than simply replacing parts, we test the boiler to establish what’s actually causing the fault.
Vaillant F.22 – Low Water Pressure
An F.22 fault is commonly associated with insufficient water or low system pressure.
Sometimes the solution is straightforward, but if your boiler continually loses pressure, simply topping it up isn’t necessarily fixing the underlying problem.
The heating system should be checked for possible leaks, expansion vessel problems, pressure relief valve issues or other causes of pressure loss.
Vaillant F.28 and F.29 Ignition Faults
F.28 and F.29 are associated with the boiler failing to establish or maintain a flame.
There are several possible causes, so proper testing is required rather than assuming a particular component has failed.
Gas and combustion-related work should always be carried out by a suitably qualified Gas Safe registered engineer.
Repair or Replace Your Vaillant Boiler?
A fault doesn’t automatically mean you need a new boiler.
Many Vaillant boilers can remain perfectly serviceable for years with appropriate maintenance and repairs.
We’ll give you a straightforward assessment of the boiler. If repairing it makes financial sense, we’ll tell you. If the boiler is reaching the point where repeated repairs are becoming uneconomical, we can also discuss replacement options.
There’s no point replacing a good boiler unnecessarily.
Vaillant Boiler Servicing
Regular servicing can also help identify developing problems before they become breakdowns.
A boiler service isn’t simply a case of taking the cover off and giving the boiler a quick look. The appliance should be properly inspected and tested to make sure it is operating safely and correctly.
Keeping a Vaillant boiler maintained can also help protect its reliability and efficiency.
